The SFU Library is pleased to announce streaming access to the Humanities and Social Sciences collection of Films on Demand.

Browse over 3500 videos by subjects including Anthropology, Art & Architecture, Communication, Criminal Justice, Education, English, Geography, History, Music and Dance, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, World Languages and others. Films can be viewed in their entirety but are also arranged as clips should users wish to view only a portion of a video.

Producers include Films for the Humanities & Sciences, Cambridge Educational, BBC, PBS, ABC News, NBC News, CNBC, CBC, Wide Angle, Bill Moyers Journal, and more.

After connecting to the database, users have an additional option to create a login to access advanced features such as playlists and favourites.

All films in the collection are licensed for use in the classroom.  Technical requirements for streaming video are available on the database’s information page linked below.  One tip for display in class, the full screen option looks much better if you choose the 1.5Mbps option instead of the standard 700Kbps.
