Donation of Items by Evelyn Whitell

Q. I have fallen heir to several books, papers and letters produced by Evelyn Whitell who lived in Vancouver on various occasions: ie 19teens and likely early 1920’s, 1924 -26, 1942 (likely earlier) to 1950. There seems to be a market for the books but I would prefer to give them away if the collection was kept together. Whitell was involved with the Unity Church and became known to my mother’s family by reading stories to children Saturday mornings. The more interesting letters describe visits to Japan and China in 1926. There is one photograph of her as part of a Christmas Card. She is shown sitting in front of her house at 1405 W 39th, Vancouver. If you have any interest in this collection I would be pleased to forward a detailed list of the material.

A. Thank you very much for thinking of SFU. Yes I am very much interested in Evelyn Whitell’s papers. Please do send me your detailed list. I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Eric Swanick
