Books for Donation

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Q. I have a large science fiction/fantasy collection and a small history collection (mostly second world war). They belonged to my deceased husband and are currently in storage but I would like to see them being used. Any idea who might be interested in having them?

A. Thank you for your email. For the science fiction books you may wish to check with your local public library;they may have an interest or some suggestions. For the history books dealing with WW2 perhaps you could ring me at the number below with some details on the books. Thank you very much for thinking of SFU.

Regards,Eric.

A. Your request was forwarded to me because you’re a CMNS grad student. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It looks like a great title, which may be used by a wide range of SFU researchers.

I’ve bought the book from Communication funds and it will normally be shelved at the Bennett Library. However, I’ve also put a hold on it for you, to be picked up at Belzberg. When it arrives, it will get priority processing and you’ll get an email when it’s ready to be picked up.

Best wishes,

A. I am happy to report that we have a copy of this book in the collection http://troy.lib.sfu.ca/record=b1131856~S1a . It is currently out, but you can put a hold on it – there is a ‘request’ button at the top of the record. If you request it, the current due date will change, so that the patron who has it right now will be able to keep it for a maximum of three weeks from the day they took it out.
Cheers,
Ivana
