Book Transfer Between Libraries

Why does it take a week to transfer a book from Bennett library to Surrey? Can someone please check this? On Friday the 20th I was told the book I requested was put in the transit box at Bennett. As of today, 25th, so sign of the book at Surrey.

I just checked your record and see that you have two holds pending.

‘Self-Impression’ arrived in Surrey today and is available for you to pick up between now and Sept/3;

‘Victory in Limbo’ appears to have been located yesterday and marked for transit to Surrey late yesterday afternoon; it should go out in this afternoon’s shipment to Surrey – I have copied Surrey staff and would ask them to check on this title when the delivery comes in.

If books are available on the shelf at the time a request comes in, the turnaround time for delivery from one branch to another should only be 1-2 days, however we have no weekend deliveries and that would have impacted the situation in this case. (If we have any difficulty locating a title, it will, of course, take longer.)
