Upcoming Workshop: Canadian Income Tax Information – Thursday, February 23rd

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

It’s tax time again!

As an international student, if you earn income in Canada (teaching/research assistantships, employment, investment or business income), you are responsible for submitting a tax form to the government (“filing a tax return”).

If you have no income to report, you may still wish to file a tax return as you may be eligible to receive certain payments or credits.

Not sure where to start?  SFU ISS is hosting a speaker from Canada Revenue Agency to do a hands-on workshop for all international students on how to file taxes. Learn how the Canadian tax system applies to you.  Choose one of the following sessions (pre-registration is not necessary, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis):

Canadian Income Tax Filing Workshop for International Students
Date: Thursday, February 23rd
Time: Select ones session to attend: 10:30am-12:30pm OR 1:30pm-3:30pm
Location: MBC 2292

You may also review our tax information sheet for details on filing your taxes in Canada.

Tax forms and guides will be available for pickup in the ISS office (MBC 1200) starting in late February.
