Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application – What’s a UCI?

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Your UCI (Universal Client Identification number) is an 8-digit number located on your study permit, and is also known as your Client ID.  This is the number that Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) uses to identify you for the purpose of your immigration file – immigration officials will ask for this number whenever you have contact with them via the CIC website, call centre or on a paper application.

Recently, CIC has replaced the term ”Client ID” with “UCI” in Question 1 of the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application, so please make sure to include your Client ID number in this space if you are applying for a new visa.
