Cafe Scientifique

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is inviting proposals for its Café Scientifique initiative. They’ll be providing a total of $261,000, and funding approximately 87 grants at $3,000 each. (Funding can be used to host more than one café.)

Proposals should be on health-research related issues of interest to the general public. Cafés should be held in public locations such as cafés, pubs or restaurants. Each café should have a panel of experts, at least two of which should be CIHR-funded researchers.

If you have an idea for a café but need some organizational assistance, consider contacting SFU’s Philosophers’ Café.

See the Funding Opportunity Details page for full application requirements. Final proposals are due by 8 pm on June 30, 2011.
