Why you should Get Involved…. As a Career Peer
Thursday, January 31st, 2008When I decided to apply to become a Career Peer, I wanted to become more involved in the community at SFU. Not unlike many others I had commonly tried to minimize the time I had to spend on the hill. However, as my time here at SFU began to wind down, I did not want to regret not getting involved and giving back to the community. I have always really enjoyed and found volunteer work extremely rewarding. Often, as a volunteer you find you have more opportunities than you might in a paid position with the equivalent experience. I also have to acknowledge that I also see volunteering as a Career Peer as an amazing opportunity to get me better prepared for my impending graduation.Â
