Happy New Semester!
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008As you recover from your over-dose of turkey and roasts, and your yearly sugar allowance consumed in only a few short weeks; you’re provided with the chance to reflect in your temporary state of lethargy about the new year that is now upon us.
The new semester brings with it a chance to dust off your cover letter and work on your hand shake.  Stay on top of your resume for those approaching summer positions by updating your resume with your newly earned seasonal employment, which is full of transferable skills, even if it only lasted a short time. It’s never too soon to start thinking about what comes after Academia, or if you just want to be at the top of the pile for that lucrative summer posting.
Career Services has planned an action-packed semester filled with workshops, information sessions, and panel discussions to help you with the basics: Resume, Cover Letter, Work Search and so on. Plus we’ve boosted up our specialty selections, such as Working on Campus, Breakfast with the Best, and the infamous Backpack to Briefcase. These are just a few of the helpful events we’ve got going on. A complete listing is available online or you can come by the office to pick up a print copy of the Spring Semester Program.
When your stomach eventually becomes empty again, bring it down for our Casual Career Hours being offered once a month at Career Services for drop in Q & A, informative resources and free food!
With so much packed into four months, your holiday-induced comatose state won’t last long!
